BREBHIN, the official singing voice of Queen Medb Encampment, has been performing together approximately 7 years. The group expands or contracts according to the members personal time allowance, as they perform without fee for the sheer joy of performing. At any given time, there can be only one performer available, while at other times there as many as 10, plus audience participation. They perform songs in the ancient tongue and carry you through to modern American country music which had its roots in Irish music. During their performances of songs of the old days and ways, it is not surprising to see the audience wiping tears from their eyes. Their blended voices combined with the throbbing of the bodhran and the gentle running of the harps, sweeten the memories of other times. When their voices are raised in rousing songs like "Kincora" and "Ireland" we remember with great pride those days when the mighty Celts ruled all of Europe. Songs such as "Whiskey" and "Maids When You're Young" enjoy much audience participation making the sounds of Brebhin all the more to be enjoyed. Every month our newsletter will feature a song from their repertoire.
And others as are available from additional duties. We are blessed with numerous talented friends who site in from time to time.
